Testimony time:
If you didn’t know yet, YuMei and I got the opportunity to go to Phuket and Bangkok a couple weeks ago. The whole reason for the trip was to see YuMei’s high school friend that lives in Bangkok. We had a couple days free before we could visit her friend so we used those days to explore Phuket. Beautiful Phuket. God really explored His creativity when He was designing that place. However, my most memorable moment from the trip wasn’t about the adventure or the scenery, but rather meeting a man named Brandon from Ireland. Here’s how it happened:
Yumei and I were headed to Chinatown in Bangkok, but due to an incorrect address, we ended up 30 minutes away in the opposite direction. After realizing our mistake, we decided to walk to the riverfront and catch a ferry to Chinatown. It was there that we met Brandon. We had a meaningful conversation with him while waiting in line and on the ferry and during the ferry ride. We were able to share the love of Jesus with him and listen to his struggles growing up in a Catholic family. I believe the whole trip lead up to this conversation with him.
Although I was initially frustrated by the waste of taxi money, aimlessly walking around, and the detour. Meeting Brandon reminded me that God has a purpose for everything. Our whole trip had a greater purpose, including all the conversations and prayer walks we had along the way. This reminded me that you’re never lost with Jesus. He will always guide you where He needs you to be.
Also, thank you to all my supporters. For trusting us with this trip and for your support. Your discernment in allowing us this opportunity for ministry, rather than just leisure, is deeply appreciated. I’m grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us to steward your finances well.
love,
Caroline
Great Job in starting the conversation and keeping it going! Love watching you share the gospel! Thank you so much for going with me!
I love the picture of James Bond island – that was a memorable experience for us as well. However, I especially appreciate the testimony of what seemed to you to be wasted time and money in going to the wrong place was what God used to connect you to a person who needed to hear what you had to say! From God’s perspective the whole trip could have been about that encounter! (But probably there was a lot more you probably weren’t even aware of)
